Fender Custom Shop 60's PU on a '78 Fender Jazz

Hi there!
I just joined this forum because I really need your expert advice:
I own a '78 Fender Jazz Bass which I got with EMG's on it. The battery is attached to the lower side of the body, so luckely there was no wood sacrifice. Anyways, the bass sounds really well; no hum or noise and good output level. My tech told me to switch to passive pups, so the bass could recover a nice vintage tone. Right now sounds "like" Marcus Miller's
and is really cool!....even though I've been bitten by the idea of switching it back to the way it originally once was.
Does anyone think the Fender Custom 60's are a good choice for this purpose?
Thanks in advance:
