Fender stock Jazz pickup vs SJB-3 Quarter Pound comparison test

I've recently installed a set of SJB-3 Quarter Pound into my MIM Standard Jazz bass.

I've recorded both the stock and SJB-3 Quarter Pound pickups.

The recording was done straight into my pc, so it's purely the sound of the pickups.

I've recorded them in this order.

Stock: Both full, tone full. (pick)
SJB-3QP: Both full, tone full. (pick)

Stock: Both full, tone off. (pick)
SJB-3QP: Both full, tone off. (pick)

Stock: Neck full, bridge off, tone full. (pick)
SJB-3QP: Neck full, bridge off, tone full. (pick)

Stock: Neck full, bridge off, tone off. (pick)
SJB-3QP: Neck full, bridge off, tone off. (pick)

Stock: Neck off, bridge full, tone full. (pick)
SJB-3QP: Neck off, bridge full, tone full. (pick)

Stock: Neck off, bridge full, tone off. (pick)
SJB-3QP: Neck off, bridge full, tone off. (pick)

Then in the same order again using fingers, then in the same order again but slapping (if you can call it that lol)

This is nothing special, I've only played a few notes, this is only to compare the two pickups that's all.

thank you, very helpful comparision.
i realy like the stock pup, characterfull tone, jazz bass at its best.

the duncans sounding very mighty, will work good as a typical rock sound.
but i miss the jazz bass mids.

Thank you, I tend to crank the mids a bit on the amp anyway.

Sorry to all for bring back an old thread, but NML1986 put some real effort into this comparison, I am going through a similar choice and googled it with the vs operator, as I'm sure a lot of others have, and I wanted to say: Thanks!....good cood comparison / vs thread!
