You have FOUR coils!
So, you have 8 wires.
Two coil ends go to green,
two coil ends go to brown,
two coil ends go to white,
two coil ends go to yellow ...

The switch in the middle position wound mean Single Coil in every "normal bass".
But here, brown goes to to coils and yellow too. At the same time, these two coils (with the same colour code) have different windings (one reverse) and also different magnet poling. So, you get a "humbucker" in SC-mode ...

Same in series and parallel mode.
This normally means that two coils are involved. But here, it is a "Quad Coil" ...
And even though it's called "serial", two coils are serial while the coils with the same "colour" remain parallel!
In the parallel mode all four coils are parallel. The pairs are parallel "inside" and parallel to the other pair ...

I understand the wiring part without the switch. I physically wired it using that to the bottom Parallel. I just don't get how the switch would make it in series because orange would always be connected to the other orange and green to the other green, where the Series diagram does not show green touching green... It only shows the top green touching top orange and bottom green touching bottom orange.

At the same time:

HOT goes to brown coil1, through coil1, out of yellow coil1, into green coil2, trough coil2, out of white coil2 to ground. (two coils serial!)

AND

HOT goes to brown coil4, through coil4, out of yellow coil4, into green coil3, trough coil3, out of white coil3 to ground. (two coils serial!)

I have to admit ...
In the left box it looks like two serial coils are parallel to each other - and I think this is the only way to draw it without too much confusion.
In reality, you have two "parallel coils pairs" which are wired in series ...
But the "parallel pairs" are square / double mirrored to each other!!!

And what makes it double complicated
is that the coils have normal and reverse windings!

Well now that I understand, I am going to get some new components and wire this baby back to stock

Per this review: http://www.vintagekramer.com/bass/Dukereview.jpeg
They said that the tone control uses the wrong capacitor. Any thoughts whether or not I should get a different one and what that should be?

Guess I'm a little dense too...sorry. To summize and clarify for me, both green wires are soldered to the same terminal of the switch, both yellow wires to it's terminal, both white wires and both brown wires? Thanks for your help, understanding and patience. I have an 82 Duke that all the wiring was disconnected by PO and it's making me crazy.
