G&L K-Mode - would it work with any 4-wire humbucker?

For those of you who don't know, the K-Mode that is sometimes used with G&L L2000/2500 basses takes two humbucker coils which are in series and shunts the signal of one coil to ground using a .1uf cap. This results in a powerful and deep single-coil sound.

Would this work with any 4-wire humbucker, or does it only work with G&L humbuckers?

I have a set of Reed James Neo humbuckers coming and am wondering if this would work.

It will work with any 4 wire humbucker, but they won't sound exactly the same since the pickups themselves sound different. But electronically the concept is the same with any 4 wire humbucker. Will it sound as good? The only way to know is to try. And then let us know.
