Talking have vintage pups less noise?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have bought vintage (1971) fender jazz bass pickups on Ebay. I made the replacement and found they are less noisy (single coil noise) than Fender Original Jazz Bass Pickups (aftermarket) which I originally had in my old Jazz Bass. Now I am able to play one pickup solo without almost no single buzz!
Of course I need to turn my bass in the "right" angle to amp.
But compare to all pickups i have tried (many!) these vintage singles are close to "noisless" pus. By the way , they are great sounding too, even they cost me a lot.Does anybody can explain the reason? Are their magnets connected to the coil wire, or why are they so good?
