Help identifying MM pickup

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all.

I'm looking for some help identifying a pickup I have for my bass built.

I bought it years ago here on TB and was told it was a stock Stingray pickup. However, all the Stingray pickups I have seen on the web don't have the two wide magnets on the back.

Here are the pics :

There are no inscription on it of any kind... but perhaps someone will know if this really came of a Stingray and if not, out of what it did actually came out of.

My '80 and '96 Stingrays had the pole pieces showing through the bottom (with height adjustment springs attached to the outer 4), and sharp edges at the top, so my guess is that's not a Musicman pickup. Maybe it's an OLP pickup.

Probably a Seymour Duncan SMB-4d (ceramic model).
