| Help With my Frankenbass Pickup Hi All,
I finally go around to putting strings on a long running frankenbass project.
I have a Gibson mudbucker mounted under the pickguard with the pole pieces poking through.
Sadly, the pickup is sitting too low and the gain is not great.
If I wind the pole pieces out I can get closer to the string, but I suspect that not much of it is left between the magnets, as the signal does not get much stronger.
Will putting longer pole pieces in solve my weak signal problem?
Thought I would ask here first before I scour the local hardware place for the right sized screws.
I can raise the pickup, or put in a preamp, but obviously swapping out the pole pieces is the easiest option.
Cheers!
Alex
