Here's what I'd like...

Alright, here's my predicament, hopefully you guys will be kind enough to help me in my search for the proper pickup.

Here's the bass I'd like to replace pickups in (only mine's blue)...

The pickups are pretty lifeless and dull, not gunna lie. I'd like to get a set of pickups that aren't going to cost me more than the bass itself (which is $130). Passive, preferably. Hopefully hey can be a direct drop in, seeing as I don't really wanna route the back pickup. I would like a preferably strong output pickup (since i play 80's hair metal [yes, with a fretless] and needs something that resembles the 80's powerful bass tone), and of course it has to be a 5 string. I'm open to almost anything...Fender, Seymour, Dimarzio...please help.

You might have better luck asking in the Essex thread.

just re-wire what you have to series and it will sound way bigger and deeper.

here's a diagram.

i'm not a big fan of series-wired jazz basses, but it really works for passive 5-string versions, way beefing up the usually weak low B.

Probably at the top of your budget, but Lollars are the schnitz.

if you want output and value, SD quarterpounders.

Check out the dimensions first, but it should be ok.
