I put a set of DiMarzio Model J's in and it sounds a lot thicker and still has a bit of punch. Didn't have any trouble with the circuit, but to be honest, I couldn't tell a difference the circuit was supposed to add prior to switching.

The Greasebucket circuit does not affect the wiring of the pickups. It's just an alternate way of wiring the tone pot and is limited to that. So if you want to swap pickups, go ahead and yank em, it'll be just like swapping out a normal Jazz.

I just swapped a couple of sets in my H1 that I wound two days ago. One set is lower output and the other has more punch. No issues with the circuit, but I swapped it for a '62 setup to test and will try another 3 pot configuration soon.

I swapped out the stock pups for nordstrand NJ4SV's. Oh yeah, much better. I also swapped the circuitry for the HAS wiring harnes as I wanted a single volume knob. I also shielded the cavities while I had it all apart.

just bought a new upgraded Highway One Jazz, and i'm gonna throw some antiquity IIs in:

anybody know what a reasonable price is for a new set of Highway One Pickups?

i'll probably list on craigs or the bay, and i dont ever see Hwy 1s listed.
thanks.

I just bought a new Hwy 1 (upgrade) Jazz a couple of weeks ago and so far I like the way it sounds out of the box. I'm gonna spend some time readjusting pickup height to see where that gets me but so far so good.

Can someone explain to me what makes the Greasebucket (ugly name, isn't it?) setup different from the standard tone circuit?
