Lightbulb Hipshot single string bass and piezos SOLVED!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello there!

I'm currently making my own bass...well, i mean SOMEONE is making it for me, and i give him headaches... you know. Anyway, i'm making my own bass guitar, and i picked six Hipshot single string through body bridges. I'm considering the idea of installing a piezo on it, and i found the graph tech site, where they got saddles fot the ABM single string bridges, but no results for the hipshot.

The question is if the saddles of those bridges are close enough in shape and dimensions so i can fit those single string ABM piezos in my Hipshot. Looking at the pics of both bridges, i found them almost the same, but i don't have an ABM one to compare, so if someone knows, it'll be a lot usefull to me.

Thanks a lot!

Hipshot partners with Graph tech and should have just what you are looking for, so have your luthier contact them directly. By the way they are pretty similar to ABM on the saddles which is the important part for piezo. You might also consider RMC for piezo.

I believe they are the same, but Graphtech has posted dimensions on this page so that you can measure your hipshot saddles and verify:
http://www.graphtech.com/product-62-2/

You may have to contact them about purchasing 2 extra saddles, however.

Also, you'll need a piezo buffer.

Thanks a lot for the answers, guys.

I mailed them and they answered in just a day (they even gave me the price of a set of six for my project, clocking every saddle at 31$). The saddles for the Hipshot triple lock down and for the ABM single string bridges are exactly the same.
