Hiss and popping

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, I,m quite new to bass and have a Fender Jap 75 reissue Jazz. My amp is a Trace Elliot 2 x 10 ,250 watt combo. I've just bought a Behringer V amp pro rack mounted effects processor, which tends to sound better in series between the guitar amd the amp rather than through the effects loop of the amp.
I have noticed that I am getting an intermittent loud hiss and popping sound that lasts for minutes when the V amp is used.
I've got a feeling it may be something to do with the mains but any suggestions on how to combat this will be appreciated.

Cheers:

I have to ask, does it do this when connected to the effects Loop? If so then check your cables. If not then clean and maybe retension the input jack on the amp. If so, and the cables are not the problem then I would say your effects processor may be the culprit.

Havent tried it much thro the effects loop as it sounded better though the amp input socket. I will give it a go.
