Hofner Bass Bridge with a piezo pickup?

Anyone ever heard of Hofner Bass Bridge with a piezo pickup?

Haven't heard of it, but it ought not be difficult to install one.

Well, you could go with something like a Fishman or a Gage Realist - these are typically used on orchestral string instruments, but I see no reason at all why they wouldn't work for your Hofner. All you'd have to do is pop the bridge off the body - I'm not even certain it's attached; place the pickup against the body, and replace the bridge on top.

Or, you could install the Fishman between the bridge base and the block that carries the saddles - just shim it into a tight fit with some hardwood scraps, or even a piece of paper folded to the correct thickness.

There's lots of pickup options out there - I'd suggest looking at the 'classical' instrument pickup options, as they've been on the market for quite some time and have been refined throughout that time. Installation is also usually very simple.
