I am upgrading the pickups in my hollow body. Because I am not a profesional, I am probably going to do the shortcut thing where you solder the whip to the existing, attached whip, then wrap the joint with electrical tape. (My terminology may not be correct, but I hope you understand what I'm saying?) But my question is, can I resell the old pups that will then have the really short whips? If not, then are these old pups completely useless?
Let me know, Thanks

Otherwise, leave enough wire so any potential buyer can splice things on the existing wires and go with full disclosure when you sell.

KO | Wow Kraigo, I think your right! When I talked to my luthier he painted this incredible tough scenario of working through the f holes, but now that you say that!...................
So each pup has a dedicated vol and tone knob, so if just take each out and replace each one at a time, each wire at a time, it should work out, right!

I got tired of the feeding things through the F-hole dance, so I had someone cut a door in the back. Worked great, he used the cut out as the door with some white binding and it looks like it was made that way at the factory!
F-holes are a pain, but hollow basses do sound great!

Edwin | You ever just do the shorcut route? Is there any difference in the quality if I use the shortcut?
Anyone have any advice?
