Hollowbody Pickups

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been on a hollowbody kick of late and to the point where I know what I like and what I don't and have started considering ordering a custom hollowbody.

The biggest problem is that I'm at a loss as far as who to go to for pickups. Given that I am aiming for a Starfire type sound, Darkstars seem like a natural fit but Fred Hammon has apparently disappeared or at least isn't taking any orders.

Thoughts on alternatives to the Dark Stars or other suggestions for a custom hollowbody bass?

I would give Chi-Sonics a look. Similar in concept to Dark Stars (high-output, full-range).

Welcome to Hanson Pickups!
