home-brew dual output basses?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I have searched this forum and multiple others (luth's corner, hardware and setup), but can't find what I'm looking for, so here goes

I want to add a second mono output to my peavey jazz bass, so I can do the "effected trebly bridge" and "clean booming neck pickup". However I just see discussion on Rics, Attitudes, and basses with stereo jacks. anyone have any experience or pointers for adding a second mono jack?

I would suggest you use output jacks with break terminals so that you won't need a mono/stereo switch.

Plug a cable into either jack and you get a mono output, plug a cable into the other jack and it will automatically split into stereo.

All of my basses are wired stereo. If I want to use it mono, I use an adapter(stereo to mono) or use an amp with two channels.

I use effects only on the bridge/treble PU.

Id wire each pup with its own volume and tone then send each ones signal to seperate output jack. Or alt use the two jacks like line6man suggested.
