a (hopefully) simples question - 55-01 pre amp

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Lakland 55-01. Previously upgraded with Nord Big Splits

I have been contemplating upgrading the Pre amp for some time now, and have decided to take the plunge now. I am thinking the NTMB should be nice on it, however, I am a little bit confused by the packages. I believe i want the 5.2 A/P but on the wiring diagram is has a Push pull on the mids instead of the volume ... or am i just being a bit thick!

The NTMB 5.2 harness has push/pull switches on both the volume and midrange pots. The one on the volume is the active/passive switch, and the one on the midrange is the mid frequency switch.

I put one of these on my old 55-01, and it worked great!

Mike

I have installed 5.2 on my 55-01. You have to enlarge the hole for the mid push/pull. If you don't wanna do that, go with 5.3. And the push/pull only allows you to choose between 250hz/800hz

I don't recall needing to enlarge the hole when I installed mine. The size of the shaft on the pot is not any bigger....

@SeaBassSteve - lol, if you look at the 55-01 thread, someone did install 5.3 and hide the switch inside the cavity...

@Mikez - I installed it 2 months ago, the shaft for the mid push/pull on the bart is bigger than the one on MK1. I was surprised too...

I did mine several years ago, so maybe the current pots are different.
