I was wanting to add a tone control knob to my Hoppus P bass. What do I need as far as the size of potentiometer and capacitor? I've seen that the Fender parts are mainly a 250K pot that come with a .022 capacitor. Will these work? How do I wire the knob?
Here are some wiring diagrams that should help. I imagine the Highway 1 Precision (Not Upgrade) or the Standard Precision would be the appropriate ones to follow.
standard p bass wiring, with a 250k potentiometer. for the capacitor, you could use what ever fender uses or choose your own. the higher the value, the more treble that you can roll off.

This is the feature that makes the Hoopus the Kewlest. See those knobs on your amp. USE THOSE.
Stop before you defile this beauty.

IMO the kewlest part is that I get a Pbass sound and a jazz body. I think I'm going to add a stacked knob so I can get the pickups under control. I don't want to change the looks!!
The stacked knob sounds like a great idea. You could also make a small stomp box with the tone pot in it so you wouldn't have to modify the bass at all.
