I've got a Fender PB70-US japanese pbass and I want to replace the pickup for my favourite P---> the DiMarzio DP146 "Will Power". Until here all is clear.

For the pots I`ve been thinking on replace the stock pots with 2 Linear Taper 500k pots for both Volume and Tone. What do you think of this combination?

Switchcraft for the mono jack and a Orange Drop as a capacitor.

What do you think of it?

Linear versus Log seems to be a heavily debated topic.
You will get all kinds of opinions, so the best thing to do is try both.

Personally, I find that linear gives a smoother response for volume controls, but functions more as an on/off switch as a tone.
I would go with a linear volume and audio tone.

Of course, if you want even brighter, 1Mohm pots are an option as is a switch to take the pots completely out of the curcuit.

The Attitude bass has a Will Power P pup and 500k pots, and I personally wouldn't want to go any brighter than that. It's plenty bright, and should give you a great hot-rodded modern-type tone with your bass. Good luck with the mod, hope you enjoy it!
