Hot Stacks v Quarter Pounds?

Just thinking ahead to the JV or AJ I'd like to pick up.

What's the difference? I've only used stock pups.

the QPs will be louder and more aggressive than stock pickups.

the "hot stacks" are not hot at all, in fact they may not even be as loud as the stock pickups. (that's why stacked jazz pickups are usually found in basses with preamps to make up the gain.)

I have the Hot Stacks for Jazz, and I agree they are not as aggressive sounding as the QPs.

The Hot Stacks are fairly balanced Hi/Mid/Low.

The Hot Stacks have more coil windings than the Classic Stack, and I recommend using 500k volume pots to allow a bit more high mids to come through (JMO).
