I have a Squier Bronco and I want to make it not suck. As was so nicely put in one of the previous topics involving it, I am "polishing a turd" soon and was wondering if this idea would work:
(I have seen it on another bass, but I'm wondering if any special work must be done besides routing and wiring.)
Four single coil pickups (probably guitar pickups) put under each string, wiring the E+A pickups together and then the D+G pickups together and running them to seperate amplifiers (bass and guitar, respectively). Looking to beef up a power trio or create a power...duo...?.
I have seen this setup minus the wiring on these guitars:
But would the output be overdriven, and if so, would I need a capacitor in front of the output jack to remedy this?
And replacement bridges? My friend tried one off of his old Yamaha bass and the string spacing was too wide for it. Any ideas? I'm getting new tuners and I think I'll replace the neck with an SX replacement neck, like this one:
Any questions, comments, or suggestions would be great!
