How to add a Series wiring switch?

I see a lot of discussions about wiring a j bass with a series switch for more tonal range/possibilities, but how do you do that?

I wanted to add a separate switch though..not usea push/pull pot since I like the 250K No-Load pots I use in my basses.

it is the same thing, the dpdt switch is separate from the pot, it just uses the knob push to engage the switch, you can buy a dpdt switch with a toggle, you will have to drill an extra hole

I dont mind drilling holes since I am workign on a completely hot-rodded bass so it doesnt have to look original
