Nice video on how cables are build in the Santo Angelo factory, in SP, Brazil. The video is in portuguese, but gives a good idea on how the cables are built there.

Not sure, he says in the video that a lot of musicians in Japan use these cables. I don't know if we can find them in the US...

Anyway, the process and materials is similar among many leading large companies. Good connectors and raw cable of the proper type for the application, good joins, that's what matters...
