| | | | How Can I Do This.... Wiring for Switching Mod
Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all,
So I made a post yesterday and got a couple great comments, but I figured I'd start from scratch and better pose my question. I found a thread on a UK bass forum about a guy who did a master volume, tone, and series/parallel switch on his OLP MM3. I am desperate for a diagram or something. I am determined to tackle this project on my own without having to pay guitar center 75 bucks to solder a couple connections.
Here's his post. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3413
He shares two links and said he used a combo of both, but the switch in the diagram is a push pull pot and I'm not sure how to relate this to a 2 way toggle. Also, if anyone knows what the olp wire colors translate to that would great.
Any help for a youngbuck trying to save a buck would be truly appreciated. |

| | | in order to do what You are talking about Your pickup must be a two coils one ... so it has 4 wires to do what You want.
Here is a pic i got from the web on how to made the switching selection (series/parallel), using a DPDT switch (mini toggle). If You have any other question ask with confidence
The color on the wires it's depending on the manufanturer, so you just need to know the hot and cold wire of each coil
I'll work on a diagram anyway and post it later so You'll see the complete diagram cheers!

| | | | Awesome, thanks luzceloffan. So yes, the pickup is a two coils one, I have 4 wires coming from it. So the first stop is to the main volume pot correct? I want to wire all four to here and then run parallels to the switch, then the tone pot, and finally to the jack? |

I wired it up just like this and everything works great, except for the tone.... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
