How can i tell if these pickups are really fender precision 1971 ?

Sign in to disble this ad
some years ago i had seymour duncan P-J active EQ pickups (i don't know the real name of the series) and i made a switch with a friend who had a 71 fender precision , pickup for pickup

i put these pickups ( the '71 ones) on some bass and it had some great output and nice sound

later on , around 2000 , i bought a Fender Americain jazz bass , i like the feel of the neck , and sounded good but not enough rockin' for my taste

So now i want to put those 71 P on my jazz and have a nice PJ bass

My question : How can i tell if those pickups are really 1971 fender precision pickups ?? Is there a way to mesure them (output , resistance etc etc) with a basic multimeter ??

is there some things to look out for with my futur PJ configuration ? (height , distance , spacing , wiring , switching ect) for optimum tone balance ??

sorry for my bad english , i'm a french speaking guy

thank you for your time and i'm awaiting for your opinions on those subjects (and sorry if it's already been covered up elsewhere on the forums)
