Question How do I interpret this wiring diagram?

Sign in to disble this ad
This is the diagram that came with my EMG select J-pups. They present most of it well, but I'm just not sure what they want me to do on the two volume pots. I see where I solder the hot and ground coming off the pups, and where I solder the hot to connect the two pups, but (circled in green). What do I do there? Do I leave it alone, or solder it down to the bottom of the pot?

Also, for the output jack. What does R, S, and T stand for? (circled in red) Does anyone have a diagram that better shows how to wire the output jack? I've check the stewmac diagrams and the Fender ones, but they aren't much help...

Thanks!

R - Ring
S - Sleeve
T - Tip

You dont need to use a stereo jack, thats why the ring part is left unconnected, the tip carries the "live" and the sleeve is for the ground.

And those points circled in green should connect to the ground i believe.

That's just the extra lug on the pot being soldered to the pot casing - easy to do - or you could earth those lugs via soldered wire if you didn't want to bend the lugs.
