From the title of your thread I was gonna suggest strong black coffee!!!

However, it sounds like you have a shielding problem or a bad earth - or maybe interference from something. Could be your lead - have you tried others to see if the buzz goes away?? What about where you play, is there a fluorescent tube???? OR a PC monitor - these can paly havoc with pickups. Could be a buzz in the amp - maybe an earthing problem?? Have you rewired anything iside recently???

That's about all I can think of just now!

Single coil pickups + bad shielding..

get humbuckers in your bass and but some shielding-tape to put in your Pickup cavity / control cavity..

putting a 0.001 µF capacitor parallel with a 10k capacitor in your ground wire fixes it a little too.. it also helps to prevent electrocution..
