Humming from spector legend

Sign in to disble this ad
Im getting a pretty bad humming coming from my bass im pretty sure, i tested by turning my high up and down, gets softer the lower my highs are. I have a spector legend 5 custom which has passive pickups, active electronics so yeah. After doing some research, I've come to the conclusion that its most likely my pickups, only thing is, if it were my pickups, wouldnt my bass have been doing this from the start? Maybe I just wasnt hearing it til a few months ago but whatever. This is probly a non-question but is there any way to deal with this without doin a pickup swap, grounding, shielding, whatever?

I got a 4 string legend custom and I got the same problem. I was thinking about shielding it to see if it helps because it is way too much buzzing to play. I'm just not sure how to do the "star" grounding thing since it is different than the jazz in the tutorial.

Same deal with mine, and I DID shield it and star-ground it. Absolutely no change in sound, I get the same buzz.

So, now I'm looking at new pickups for it and a new preamp, because I really like the chassis and how it plays.

Suggestions?
