I am awful at this

So, I just installed myself a new Glockenklang preamp with Nordstrand big singles, but there's a slight problem.

There's an obvious grounding problem. Whenever in active mode, I can hear a pop through my amp whenever I touch the pots or the input jacks. HOWEVER, in passive mode (my bass comes with a passive switch) there's no pop at all, and instead, just clean clean beautiful rich sound.

So, what is improperly grounded? I believe I properly grounded the pickups to the blend pot, since, in passive mode, I get no pop, and the only thing I had to solder were the pickups to the blend pot, the volume pot to a battery, and battery to input jack. Oh, and volume pot to input jack.

after some further investigation, it only happens when i touch the blend pots or the EQ pots, not when i touch the volume pots. Here's the wiring schematic.

any help, would be greatly appreciated!

What do you guys think? I wanted some experienced opinions, before I open up my bass again, so, I decided to ask talkbass. haha, thanks for the help, if I do get any.

Sounds like a ground problem. The pop is you releasing static back through the audio path because there's no clear way for it to get to ground.
Go over your ground wiring and make sure that all grounds are connected together. All the eq pots and passive pots should be connected by a ground wire and this should be connected to the sleeve on the jack. Also, any shielding needs to be connected to the sleeve as well.
Also, I'm not sure why you say you had to connect the volume pot to the battery. The battery should only be connected to the preamp and the jack. Red to the preamp and black to the ring on the jack.
I'd really recommend having a professional look at it.

^I concur with Carey. He knows his schtuff, and I had the same issue on one of my preamp installs- pots not properly grounded

If you'd like us to try to help a bit more, how about some pictures of the control cavity? We may be able to detect a missing ground.
