I can't figure out this Audere...

Hey,
So, a while back, I bought this Fender MIM jazz (very nice bass) that came with an Audere preamp installed. I bought it as a backup and a beater, so I never really spent that much time with it.
Lately I've been messing around with it because I'm about to sell it, and I can't figure out what the controls do. I believe (after reading the Audere website) that the preamp I have is the JZ3. It has a knob, the mini switch, and two stacked knobs. If I understand correctly, the simple knob would have to be a master volume, then the first stack would be mids/balance, and the second stack treble/bass, or something along those lines.
The trouble is that when I roll the "balance" knob all the way back, I get no sound. This happens even if the master volume is turned all the way up. So right now I have practically two master volume knobs on my bass, which is really dumb.
Oh, and about the hiss, I have that too...
I have no clue guys, I don't know anything about electronics. Please

It could be wired wrong. I bleeb those Auderes have solderless connections, meaning the wires from the pickups are screwed onto the pre, so you may want to crack it open and check it out.

If you take the control plate off, it will tell you what control pot is. For example T/B would be treble and bass, V/B volume and balance etc... might be a good place to start and work room there.

Okay, I'll open it up and look, hopefully I'll take some pictures so you guys can see as well. That will be tomorrow night though.
Thanks!

Or, you could ask Audere.
