I don't think these are Aero pickups...

Do all aero pickups have the Aero logo(the two opposite-facing arrows)?

I have two Lakland DJ5s-I have replaced the pickups in one-the stock pups had the Aero logo and a serial number.

Today I was about to replace the stock pickups in the other DJ5 and discovered that the pups had no such logo or serial number.

From what I can gather, the first DJ is from 2005(I bought is used) and the second is from 2006(purchased new).

Can anyone help clear this up?

The "mystery" pickups have red/black wiring for the neck and green/black for the bridge. The Aeros are white/black.

don't know...doesn't look the same does it...

different wire colours, different eyelets, flatware looks different...hmmm...

do you have an ohm-meter? measure the resistance of both pickups in each pair and compare...also, can you slide the covers off? check the winding wire...is it the same? is the pattern similar? (scattered or orderly?)

I think they may be the new Lakland pickups... I read somewhere that all basses will be fitted with their own pickups...

Good call. Kirk from Lakland just replied to my email and said that they are the Lakland pickups.

Well, I was pretty convinced they were Aeros(nice and punchy) until I pulled them out! Part of the problem is the salesperson told me that this bass had the Aeros-and he was aware that Lakland was now making their own pups. They did have a little more output then the Aeros that were in the other DJ5.

I like the stock pickups, but the nordstrands I just put in are killer!
