I have an issue with Jack cables!

Jack Cables that are owned by me, just don't last long.

All of them just begin to fail, and then at one of the ends (or both) unless some force is applied in the correct direction until they finaly die.

I just can't figure this out! 2 of them were Planet Waves, one of whitch had this huge strong ends and suffered from the same thing. I realy don't get it. The cables are long enough, don't step on them, the amps never move from their spot. I even tying the cable arround the table leg to prevent those accidents.

So... what is the problem with me? Aren't these cables supposed to be strong? Do I need a different kind of cable?

And, am I the only one, sufferinf from this "condition"?

Thanks

What are you doing at the plug end when you remove it and plug it in? From what your describing I wouldnt be surprised if the input jacks on your instruments and amps are also getting messed up. Useing force on cables is bad for them and more bad for whatever jacks your plugging them into.

You should be using Tara Labs cables (no affiliation).

From what I described...? I just said I don't step on them, the amp is fixed and the cable is also always plugged in (amp end).

"What are you doing at the plug end when you remove it and plug it in" -> The normal procedure, I guess. Pull them on a straight line, with no perpendicular forces applied.

Loop the cable through your strap at the bass end and through the amp handle at the other end. This will support the weight of the cable and save the wear and tear at the plugs.

When you plug in and out always hold the plugs, not the cable.
