Question I like Pickup loading effect, but.... Question.

You are probably familiar with the effect of slightly rolling back one of your volume pots (from wide open) on a passive jazz bass and getting the cool nasal, burby sound. Question is : Is this effect more pronounced on a traditionally wound pu, as opposed to a much hotter pu like a Dimarzio model J or Ultrajazz models? I don't seem to be hearing it with the hotter pu. Thanks. John

I don't think it has to do with output but the 2 DiMarzios you mentioned are humbuckers, so there are other cancellation/effects going on here as compared to a traditional single coil.
