And a store here in my city has Kent Armstrongs for a incredible great prices (unbelievable since im brazilian)....should i go for it? BTW...its to my MIA Deluxe Jazz, i like the samarium-cobalt pups, but i like to pluck exactly over the bridge pup, so the clanck of my fingers hitting the pole is a problem

most guys are pretty satisfied with armstrong pups. Also, seems they make solid J covers. Allparts or somewhere. |

another, non-reversible option:
you can also consider making a cover plate out of a black plastic and epoxying it to the top of your existing pickups...remembering to make indents on the underside to accommodate the pole pieces. |

Take the covers off the pickups. (leave the pickups in
the bass) Put a strip of electrical or high quality cloth
tape over the top of the pickup, and put the covers
back on. The tape should keep the pickups just low
enough so you won't have to worry about the magnets.
I've done this with studio oriented basses with absolutely
no problems. I did this on my Am Dlx Jazz V. Works great. |

I've heard (and been suggested) to put clear nail polish on the exposed pole pieces. You may wanna look into that and see if that will work for you.

I'm too chicken to pull my pickups apart... |

From i can remember, i can get the Kents by a much smaller price than the EMGs. And all this nail polish and cardboard talking aside, i really would love to try those Kents.
