And a store here in my city has Kent Armstrongs for a incredible great prices (unbelievable since im brazilian)....should i go for it? BTW...its to my MIA Deluxe Jazz, i like the samarium-cobalt pups, but i like to pluck exactly over the bridge pup, so the clanck of my fingers hitting the pole is a problem

FWIW:

most guys are pretty satisfied with armstrong pups. Also, seems they make solid J covers. Allparts or somewhere.

if you can get your pickups apart (covers off)...then you can cut a "spacer" from cardboard and place it under your existing cover...this way the exposed pole pieces stay just below the surface of the cover...

another, non-reversible option:
you can also consider making a cover plate out of a black plastic and epoxying it to the top of your existing pickups...remembering to make indents on the underside to accommodate the pole pieces.

Easy fix my friend. I've been doing this for many years.
Take the covers off the pickups. (leave the pickups in
the bass) Put a strip of electrical or high quality cloth
tape over the top of the pickup, and put the covers
back on. The tape should keep the pickups just low
enough so you won't have to worry about the magnets.
I've done this with studio oriented basses with absolutely
no problems. I did this on my Am Dlx Jazz V. Works great.

Bartolini, EMG (Select HZ are passive), Kent. Those are the only ones I know of off the top of my head.

I've heard (and been suggested) to put clear nail polish on the exposed pole pieces. You may wanna look into that and see if that will work for you.

i've gone the clear nail polish path before...it didn't really work for me...two layers of electrical tape did work...but I just threw my tape over the top...

I'm too chicken to pull my pickups apart...

spector uses the passive EMG pickups, they say EMG-SSD on the front of them, they're decent, but i think i'm gonna opt for a set of barts for my performer eventually.

The store works with EMG HZ pups...but too darn expensive. From i can remember, i can get the Kents by a much smaller price than the EMGs. And all this nail polish and cardboard talking aside, i really would love to try those Kents.
