I need some help deciding

Ok. I've just orders a solid mahogany on Koa Jazz body to go with my Modulus neck I got from a friend. But im having a hard time deciding what kind of jazz pickups i should put in em.

I play anything from rock - metal- funk, but mostly a lot of Rush and primus.

I am a little curious about the lindy fralin jazz pickups.

One consideration is how you play. By that I mean do you tend to solo the pickups, or play them at the same level. If you frequently solo then you want some kind of humbucker to keep things quiet. Several pickup companies make either side by side humbuckers or stacked humbuckers that fit the bill. I like Fender noiseless alot, but Bartolini, Nordstrum and I think even Fralin make some form of humbucker jazz. If you are looking for a more traditional single coil jazz pickup, and you tend to run the pickups together any good quality alinco V jazz set will work, and Fralin is know for their vintage jazz pickups.

In my opinion the first question has to be do you want single coil or humbucker, after you have made that decision the choice of pickup is totally subjective and personal. One suggestion I will make though, if budget is an issue, I have had really good luck with Gotoh Alinco V pickups. There are a couple suppliers for them on ebay, they sound great, and are extremely reasonable.

hear here. I'm trying to spec out a pickup to go in between the lindy fralin split J's that I want to put in a custom J5 this upcoming year.

I'm thinking a nice phat stacked humbucker but since I'm running them all series/parallel then I'd be into a suggestion for a beefy single coil as well.

I think I've been posting a lot about this and that and the other lately. I don't want to have to poke around for months and months to get some reliable tone.
