I need some pot(s)

Greeting all!
The name is Mark and I have been lurking around here for quite a while.

I just signed up and this is my first post, really just a quick question.

I have a MIM Fender Jazz Deluxe and my EQ pots are starting to crackle pretty good.

Where is a good site to pick up some quality replacements?
Thanks

Hey Mark, I have a MIM Jazz Deluxe as well. When my pots started to get noisy, I opened up the cover and shot the pots with contact cleaner. When you do this, spin the pots back and forth to work the cleaner over the entire travel of the pot. Also, if you can move the circuit board and pots out of the way, try to vacuum or blow out some of the nasty dust that always seems to be left from the buffing/finishing process at the factory. New pots are almost definitely not necessary.

Or you can goto radio shack and buy a product call Deoxit spray that into your pots and ka-blamo there clean. Works quite well I have used it several times.

random quick question here guys. there are 500k pots and 250k pots...if you had all 500 and replaced them with 250, would it change the tone at all? what is the difference? pros, cons?

The 500k will let more sunshine in. These are typically used with humbuckers to brighten their tone. I have a P-bass with 500k pots in it and it really gets that punchy bright P bass sound. The cons? Well, taste is subjective. That's the only con I can think of.

For CTS and Switchcraft stuff (pots and jacks made in USA) I use:

They sell kits as well..............
