I need some Talkbass wisdom!

Hey guys, i was wondering if you could help me out with something.

I have a P-bass deluxe (PJ Pickups) that was active when i purchased it from Fender. I am now in the process of converting it to passive since the midrange adjustment pot was broken when i got it (im installing a vol-vol-tone path). Anyway, i know usually when using passive you ground everything at the bridge, problem is when i opened up my P to take a look, there is NOT a ground wire from the bridge, everything in the active electronics is grounded to a screw that is screwed into the body...

My question: Can i ground the passive setup into this screw or do i need to go and make a line from the bridge (which means routing )? Also, both my pickups are noiseless incase that makes a difference. Any help is appreciated, thanks...if you need pics i can try to get some up soon.

Wire it up and try it. If there's hum there may need to be a bridge connection, once you establish your wiring is correct. I always attach all earths to the jack earth (star ground).
