Hey guys!

Im after a wireless system for my bass.

I wanted to get the Samson airline bass system because i didnt want a bulky transmitter (I am very energetic on stage Thrash doom metal type thing)

However The problem is i have recessed jack sockets for my 6 string basses. So i need something which transmitter is built into the jack but not curve around 90' degrees, it needs to be nearly straight.

Is there a system out there like this?

If not what is a decent wireless system which transmitter will never ever fall off (A strap mount one)

Cheers!

Rob.

Cheers! Rob.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure no such animal exists.

Cheap solution: make up a very short patch cord that has a female in-line jack socket at one end and a male jack plug at the other. Use it between the Samson and the jack socket of your bass. If you make the patch cord the right length, you could even attach the Samson unit to your strap in some way (velcro??).

Couldnt i get a male Mono 1/4 inch jack to a female Mono 1/4 jack to make more clearence from the bass? Does that exist?

Would this cause any problems with the signal etc?

Yes you could, but it would stick out rather a lot and I think it would be very prone to getting knocked. Could end up damaging your bass. I honestly think that a patch cord would be safer.

I've just noticed you're in the UK. (Switching to Brit-speak mode...) If you wanted a suitable patch lead making up for you, just drop me a PM and I could put one together for the cost of the materials.

Oh, now I get you. When you said "recessed jack sockets" I was imagining deep, angled things like on a Fender stratocaster.

Looks like you're sorted, then!

wireless troubles

Maybe you should think about changing the jacks on your basses I would go to a neutric locking jack like on a Dingwall
then you could use anything you want for a wireless and it would stay plugged in no matter what .
