So I just completed my first bass project and I really need some help. I have a dual 9v power supply with a generic 5 strong humbucker and an EMG 40dc 5 string PU. I wired as similar to the diagram that they provided and I have sound, volume, tone control. Where I am having an issue is when I turn the volume pot, it sounds like the pot is dirty. I replaced it, wired it in exactly how I had the other one (yes, it is a 25k Ohm) and it still does the same thing. It is like a scratching noise. I am not sure where to begin. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
