I want to add bridge pick up, but.......

i have a precision bass....i've always considered adding a bridge pickup for diversity. but i recently played a delux p bass with the humbucker in the back and i fell in love with it.

the only problem it seems i might have is that the precision pickups are shifted slightly farther toward the neck. with my pickups being in the standard p bass position, can i still put the humbucker back there or should i go with a standard jazz pick up for the bridge?

You want a new bass. Just buy a new bass.

Then you'll have two nice basses.

Otherwise you'll end up with one mangled bass.
