Ibanez active pups plus active EQ ?

Guys,I have a 85 Ibanez Musician with low impedance(big soapbar) active pickups with passive controls.Any problems adding a active EQ circuit ? I'm assuming wire it in and add the second 9V battery for the preampI thought about an off the shelf passive pup then add the EQ but the pickups are an odd size.Thanks
