Question Ibanez AEB10: electronics don't work anymore?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an Ibanez AEB10BK acoustic-electric bass that sounded great plugged in but that I seldom used, so I put it on craigslist. I haven't played it at all in that time (about a month) and now I pick it up again to make sure everything works properly, and the electronics don't work. Worse, I discover the electronics are only under the warranty for a year , vs. the rest having the lifetime warranty.

I tried 2 sets of new batteris (2 AA) and the same result. Plugged in it gets no sound at all, and when i turn on the built-in tuner, the 'in tune' light just flashes slowly, and doesn't respond to any notes played. Thinking it may be a piezo issue, I remove the saddle, but it is still aligned properly extending all the way under the saddle.

I looked inside with a flex-neck flashlight and everything seems to be still attatched properly, and the circuit boards look fine as well. I can see nothing wrong with it, yet it doesn;t work at all. I don;t know much about piezos or their electronics (I play mostly passive electric basses) can anyone tell me what might be wrong with it?

yeah i did a number of attempts with different batteries cause I figured that was the only thing that could easily go wrong after sitting for a while. the tuner light flashes but no signal
