Infinite sustain

I spend most of my time trying to get rid of sustain.

Talk to Martin Keith. He had a bass at namm a few years ago with a sustainer circuit. Like a bass with a built in ebow. Not sure what was going on but it worked.

Otherwise until moog comes out with a bass version of the moog guitar...

I have to do it on the beginning of a song, so I lean the body of my bass against the speaker cab. I'm also using a compressor. It will sustain as long as I hold the note.

One of those freeze pedals or a looper would probably work nicely for what you're trying to achieve.
