J bass preamp that sounds like a MM Sterling?

Is there a difinitive onboard preamp that would make a jazz sound similar to a MM Sterling? I figured for starters I would replace the Duncan Designed pickups with Delanos (the version witht he giant pole pieces).

Thank you.

SGD makes a 2-band preamp based on the Stingray: http://sgdlutherie.com/pages/electronics.html

It won't sound like a Music Man. The preamp and the pickup placement are a big part of the MM tone.

I guess I should have mentioned that; the Sterling tone I dug was from the one I used to own which was purchased new from NJ Guitar & Bass Center winter of 1995 - so there was only "one" Sterling, not all the different versions there are today.

I'll check out that SGD one that was mentioned though - thank you very much.
