J-pickups with blade magnet?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm trying to find out which j-pickups have blade magnet. I'm planning to make a bass with narrower string spacing and J-pickups. I don't like to use common width J's as the pole pieces don't line up with strings.
I guess Bartolini has some blade magnet models, any other manufacturers out there?

Pete Biltoft at Vintage Vibe Guitars might be a good conversation for you. http://www.vintagevibeguitars.com

The other thought is why Blade ? Why not a solid cover, You could think about Bart 9J's, Lace, Armstrong Lipsticks, emg's ... Seems like your choices might broaden.

Not exactly at the boutique end of the spectrum, but I know that Select by EMG are a blade configuration, and they are really not that bad.

Or at the boutique end, perhaps a set of Q-tuners. Not a blade per se, but will cope with narrower spacing admirably.

The MEC pickups in Warwicks are that way. In fact they use the same P/Us in the 4 strings and the 5s.
