Jack Ground problem

Sign in to disble this ad
I just finished re-wiring an Aguilar obp-3 preamp to standard vol/blend/b/m/t w/ the mid switch. The preamp and pots are exactly like the diagram says, no problems there, its the input jack I'm having trouble with. Its a long threaded type and has two tabs coming out of the middle and one long tab on the side. I wired the green from the pre to the longer middle tab and the black from the battery connector to the shorter middle tab. The grounds from the volume, blend, black wire from the pre I grounded to the longer tab. This made sense to me, but I get a VERY faint single, I have to crank my amp and still hardly get anything. Help?! Thanks!

The short tab is the Tip terminal, the medium tab is the Ring terminal, and the long tab on the side is the Sleeve terminal.

The green wire goes to the short tab, and the battery negative goes to the medium tab.
