Jaguar schematic for Dimarzio model J pups

Sign in to disble this ad
Ordered some Dimarzio model J pups to help eliminate some hum due to the stock single coils in my Jaguar bass. I have heard Dimarzios come with 4 wires instead of 2. I am going to be wiring them to a V/V concentric pot along with a master tone and the preamp that comes stock in the Jaguar. Anyone have a schematic that shows how to wire these in?

Just leave them wired each in series. So the black and white wires connect together. Red is hot and green is ground.

So even though they would be running to a preamp, a V/V and master tone, pickup on off switches, and series/parallel switches the black and white are soldered together? I'm not familiar with the term hot for wiring. What does that refer to exactly?

Decided not to install the concentric pot until maybe later. The instructions that came with the model J's aren't very helpful because the Jag is set up a little different than a standard jazz. The original pups ran straight to the on/off switches, not to the pots. The four wires instead of two are making me unsure to know about where to put all of them. I just need to know where the wires go in relation to the switches so i can wire it all together. Any suggestions?

like David said;
put togehter the white and black wires; insulate them (tubing electrical tape) now your left with 2 wires, 1 (red) hot (the wire that carries the signal) and (green) ground (the one you put to ground) and follow your old 2 wire wiring.
