Hi all--
I picked up this sucker a couple days ago for a song:
Sounds great, but beat to hell. I'm going to put a little love into it and see what happens. Neck PU is OK, a bit microphonic (I'll pot it to take care of that), but working fine otherwise.
Bridge PU is shot. I'm thinking of either using it as a learning experience and rewinding it myself. or just replacing it.
If I were to replace the PU, what would y'all recommend on the cheap?
It's 70mm x 38mm / 2 11/16" x 1.5", so a bit taller than modern mini HB's. Was considering putting in a mudbucker copy and routing to fit. Fully hollow underneath the PU, so vertical clearance isn't an issue.
