I tried the search function but didn't really find a lot about this.

Any opinions on this

http://www.wymoreguitars.com/Pre-wir...te_p_664.html#

VS or this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Any opinions on either? on 250k/250k vs 250k/350k?

Also, do the 2 knob control plates interchange with basses that come stock with three knobs with no mods?

Very curious about this.

Thanks

Go to Bayou Audio Cables and talk with "Butch" Ammons. He is the shiznit when it comes to cables and electronics. Just tell him what you need and he can hook you up - literally!

I would recomend the 250k/500k one, the 250k/250k will take too munch load on your pickups and will make it sound muddy... i dont really know if this 3 holes plate will fit on a 4 hole bass.

3-hole and 4-hole plates are interchangeable.

Thank You

I'm a big dummy, after trying a few different ways of searching.... I found a lot of posts about this.

Doesn't really seem worth it from what I gathered.....the 2 concentric chrome knobs sure look cool though but I don't think it's worth the trouble or $ from a tone standpoint.

Of course I'm speculating..... if anybody wants to jump in and tell me how great the 62 wiring is and why, I'm all ears.

Little ranting…

I placed an order from Wymore a month ago exactly, in spite it appears "In Stock" on the web site they're actually out of stock for over three weeks.

sad…

well, REAL '62 controls' are more isolated from oneanother with a resistor (so I understand) and are a little bit cooler than V/V/T outputs because of it.

you *could* remove the resistor to have a little bit more tone control but similar output potential, but you might be better off to just get the control plate and have simplified controls, like a vol/blend, tone pushpot with series/parallel or tone cap mod...not only would that look killer, but unless you want the real vintage tone approach, you might be disappointed with an overhaul.
