seriously, why would you want to. i just spent the last 2 hours removing my
preamp from my mim active 5, went to passive. thru headphones its better
already. trying it out on a gig tommorrow night.

I use this unit with all my basses, active and passive, and it's an inexpensive addition to the electronic chain that adds additional bass EQ, compression, and depth control. This preamp does everything the advertisement says it does and is very easy to use.
