Jazz bass Electronics Help!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I am looking to upgrade my 5 string Fender American Jazz bass with some new pickups and electronics. It is not the deluxe version and has the passive set up with the top mounted input. I am looking for a very clean and modern sound. What do you all suggest?

Price is not a factor.

Thanks guys!

modern sound? I use emg's in my MIA jazz and I get a lot of modern type sounds.
I don't have any experience with them, but I've heard the lindy fralin duals are great.

I went out on on limb and ordered a matched pair of these. it's the JMVC4 FE/M2 with the giant poles.

I use EMG's in front of the aguilar obp3. I'm not sure if that preamp is an option for you but I do recommend it.
Is your bass the three knob or the four knob version?
Rothstein guitars makes prewired harnesses. Link here.
There is another company that makes a bolt-in preamp with plate, but cannot recall who it is. The Rothstein may be bolt in but am not sure. Nor have I ever heard it.

EMG or Nordstrand split coils

Barts are VERY clean and modern sounding but at slightly less output than stock. Suggest an Active Preamp with the Barts.
